After enjoying an open-buffet breakfast at your hotel, your tour guide will meet you to start your Cairo day tour to the Giza Pyramids, Dahshur, and Memphis. Your first stop will be at the Giza Pyramids, where you'll be amazed by the size of the massive structures built by ancient Egyptian kings and rulers 4,500 years ago. You'll have the opportunity to see the Great Pyramid of King Cheops, which is made up of over 2.3 million limestone blocks and stands at a height of 146 meters with 230 meters on each side. You'll also see the pyramids of Chephren and Mycerinus and the Great Sphinx, a statue of a man-headed lion that is thought to have been built by King Chephren himself.
Next, you'll visit the ancient city of Memphis, now known as Mit Rahina, where you'll see an open-air museum with the second-biggest sphinx made out of alabaster and the colossal statue of King Ramses II, one of the most powerful kings during the new kingdom.
You'll then head to the Dahshur Archaeological Site to see the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid, two of the four pyramids constructed for King Snefru, the founder of the 4th dynasty and the father of King Cheops. The Bent Pyramid still retains a significant percentage of its outer casing material, making it one of the most unique pyramids in Egypt. The Red Pyramid is considered the first perfect-shaped pyramid in the history of Egypt.
After your sightseeing, you'll stop for a gourmet lunch at a good-quality restaurant overlooking the pyramids of Giza before being transferred back to your hotel. Breakfast and lunch are included in the tour package.
